Local Classifieds
Everywhere's Local is a community based free online local classified website. We strive to be have a community based company goals in every level of our business.
But just how local are our classifieds? We could go down to a latitude/longitude coordinate for every point on the planet; but our preference is by zip code (postal code) or the city name itself. Why? When you think "local" you think "local to me"; and what's local to you is your zip code or town.
But we can't say which you should use.
Robinson, IL:
City Codes: 544 / 546
Zip Code: 62454
County: Crawford
State: Illinois
Chicago, IL
City Codes: numerous
Zip Codes: about 60601-60701
County: Cook
State: Illinois
(some towns extend to 2 counties)
When you think about it, there's almost 100 zip codes that are "local" to Chicago, but only one local zip code for Robinson. But there's only one Chicago, IL; and only one Robinson, IL.
So the method you access our site's towns directly to get local classifieds depends on where you are! For Robinson, you could easily use http://62454.everywhereslocal.com/, but for Chicago, you'd want to use http://chicago-il.everywhereslocal.com
How you wish to get local hits on our site is basically completely up to you.
Now it is possible that we don't yet have your local info listed (whether it be town, zip code, etc). All you have to do is contact us and we'll add it to the database for you. Later on, you'll be able to make all changes on your own.
Likewise, all of our "local information" we have is given to us by visitors and such. If we're missing information, or just have something wrong -- please tell us so we can add or correct it! But when you make a post, you can always enter a zip code or city that we don't have in our database manually. Then if you tell us, or we notice it, your new local area will be added and available for all to use!
And that's how we have local classifieds. Our main site contains all classifieds for all areas all over the world; while our local city pages have classifieds for just those areas (give or take).
It's a similar way to how our advertising works. Advertising banners can be global banners, or local advertising banners -- all up to how much you want to spend, and where your company or event's clientele is located. Listing a local company's picnic wouldn't be a global or state-wide point of interest, so you'd list it in the local areas only. But if you have a sale on mail order items where you ship all over, that'd be a global one!
